This Court having discovered by the Calendar delivered
into this Court by the Keeper of his Maties Goal of New
prison at Clerkenwell
in this County of prisoners comitted
to the said prison that

one of the
Justices of the peace
of the said County did on the third
day of August instant by a Comittment under his hand
and Seal comitt one
Edmond Juby< no role >
to the custody of the
Keeper of the said prison for assaulting one
John Owen< no role >
on the Kings High way and feloniously takeing from him
a Silver Watch value eight pounds, five broad peices of
Gold each of them value twenty three shillings, and
three shillings in Silver, to be there safely kept untill he
should be from theme discharged by due course of Law,
and that the said

did on the Fifth day
of the same Month of August by writing under his hand
and seal discharge the said
Edmond Juby< no role >
out of the
Custody of the Keeper of the said prison, which discharge
this Court did think to be illegal, and the said Samuel
Newton being thereupon convened before his Maties
Justices of the peace for this County now assembled in
General Sessions to answer the premises but not being
able (the required) to shew any tolerable cause why he
discharged the said

This Court is of opinion that the said
Samuel Newton< no role >
hath comitted a great misdemeanour in so doing,
And doth Order that
Whitelock Bulstrode< no role >

. Chairman
of this Court be and he is hereby desired in the name and
on the behalf of the Body of his Maties. Justices of the
peace of this County to attend the right honble the
Lord high Chancellor of Great Britain, and acquaint
his Lordship of the said Misdemeanour comitted by
the said

as aforesaid, and to lay the
said Comittment and discharge before his Lordship
To the intent that such Redress may be had in the premises
as to his Lordships Wisdom shall seem meet.
