the said Justices of peace are desired at such petty
Sessions to consider what methods may be taken for
the establishing a sufficient nightly watch, and to
transmit the same in writing unto Robert Thornhill< no role >
Esqr . Chairman of this Court on Monday the nineteenth
day of September instant in the forenoon to the end
that he together with a Comittee of his Maties. Justices
of the peace for this County may take the same into
consideracon, and inform their excellencies the
Lords Justices of the proceedings of his Maties. Justices
of the peace for this County touching the appointing
of a nightly watch,

This Court being informed that Ralph west Clerke to
Nathaniel Booth< no role > Francis Foot< no role > & William Buckland< no role > Esqrs.
Justices of the peace for this County doth keep a
brandy shop or publique house for retaileing of
liquors, and that he procured the sd. Mr. Buckland to
take bayle for some offenders comitted to Prison by
other Justices of peace without sending to the comitting
Justices to have an accompt of the offence & charge
against such Offenders contrary to the Orders of this
Court, This Court is of opinion that it may be of ill
consequence to the publique to have any person who keeps
a publique house for selling of beer, ale, brandy or
other liquors by retail to be employed by any Justice
of peace us his Clerke, And doth recomend it unto
the Justices of the peace above named & every of them
to discuiss the said Ralph West< no role > out of their services as
Clerke to them respectively and not to employ him
for the future, And this Court doth alsoe recomend
it to all the Justices of peace for this County not to employ
any person who doth or shall keep any publique house
for sale of beer, ale, brandy, or other liquors by
retail as their or any of their Clerke for the future,
