The Parish of Saint Martin Ironmonger Lane

Samuel Mills< no role > a Pauper was passed by Warrant under the Hands of Aldermen
Crosby & Boydell to the Parish of St. Paul Covent Garden by Mistakethe place of
his Settlement being in the Parish of Saint Martin in the Fields . In consequence of
which the following Notice has been given.

To the Churchwardens & Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of St. Martin in
Ironmonger Lane London.

We the Churchwardens & Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Saint Paul Covent
Garden within the Liberty of Westminster in the County of Middlesex hereby give
you Notice that We intend to appeal at the next General Quarter Sessions of the
Peace to be holden at the Guildhall in and for the City of London on Tuesday the
Eighth Day of January Instant against a Pass Warrant under the Hands and Seals
of the Worshipful Brass Crossby< no role > and John Boydell< no role > Esquires Two of the Aldermen of the
said City of London and Two of his Majestys Justices of the Peace for the said City bearing
date the Twelfth day of December last, by Virtue whereof Samuel Mills< no role > was conveyed
from the parish of Saint Martin in Ironmonger Lane in the said City of London
to the said parish of Saint Paul Covent Garden as the place of his last legal
Settlement Dated this fifth Day of January 1788

You will therefore consent for the Parish of St. Martin Ironmonger Lane
to the Matter of this Appeal-as they are willing to receive back the
Pauper and intend to obtain a new pass for him to the Parish of Saint
Martin in the Fields the Place of his Settlement being in that Parish.
