The Informations of Gotlib
Augustus Troyer< no role > of the Haymarket
Tobacconist and Samuel Jackson< no role >
Clerk to Messrs. Martin and Company
of Lombard Street Bankers taken
before me this 30th. day of November
1787 .

Who being upon Oath Severally say and first the
said Gotlib Augustus Troyer< no role > for himself says
that on or about the Fifteenth Instant [..] the persons
now present who calls himself William Ludlam< no role >
but who at that time called himself William
Washington came to this Informant's Shop
and purchased goods to the Amount of Ten Pounds
and upwards and in payment for the same
gave this Informant the Bill of Exchange now
produced purporting to be the Bill of Exchange
of George Brown< no role > to Mr. John Wright< no role > or Order at
thirty days after date for the Payment of Twelve Pounds
on [..] Messrs. Martin and Company Bankers
London dated Derby 22nd. October 1787 and
purporting to be excepted by Edward Stone< no role > That
from the enquiry this Informant has made at
Said Bankers he hath reason to believe and doth
believe and Suspect that the Acceptance of Edward
Stone to said Bill of Exchange is a Forgery and
that it was published by said William Ludlam< no role >
to this Informant well knowing it to be so with
an intention to defraud him And the said
Samuel Jackson< no role > for himself says that the
acceptance of Ed: Stone< no role > is not Hand Writing of
any Person in their Barking House nor have they
any Person of that Name belonging to them And
