Phillips taken on Oath the 16th. day of November 1787
before me one of his Majestys Justices of the Peace
for
the County of Middlesex
.
This Informant Sarah Phillips< no role >
Saith That she lives in
Acorn
Alley Bishopsgate street
London And that last night
her husband being from home, she went out between six
and seven OClock in the Evening and returned again between
Eight and nine O'Clock, And on her going up stairs she was
surprized to find the door of her apartment open, she then
went down stairs and got a Candle to light her and found than
the door was broke and the Lock destroyed, and the Bed and
Bedcloaths laying about the Floor, And that a box with
wearing apparel in the room was open and stript of every thing
in it And a hot which was in a Box and sundry other Articles
which were in the room were carried away, And that she
found in the room some matches that had been partly burnt,
And further saith that when she left the said appartment
she locked the door thereof and left it fast and secure, And that
a mans hat a shirt, a Waistcoat and other things now
produced by John Armstrong< no role >
a Peace Officer is the Property
of her husband And the same that was stolen from her
Husbands apartments aforesaid And that she saw Thomas
Jones and Elizabeth Rouster< no role >
the prisoners now under
Examination, close by Acorn alley aforesaid when she
went out from her appartments aforesaid.
And this Informant William Phillips< no role >
Saith that a hat
a Shirt a Waistcoat and Sundry other things now produced
by John Armstrong< no role >
a Peace officer is the property of
him this Informant
