Maketh Oath and saith that he this Deponent became bound
for the Appearance of the above Defendant to Try his
Traverse at the last Session holden at Guildhall
in and for the
City of London
and totally defended on the Conduct of a
Person of the name of Hardson who calls himself an Attorney
a Solicitor respecting the defending of the above prosecution
But to this Deponent Surprize he is served with a
Notice or Letter that his Recognizance is forfeited
Therefore Humbly Implores the Mercy of the Court
this Deponent as well as the Defendant being
Mislead by the said Howson
Sworn in Court at Guildhall
this 22d. day of Octr. 1787
