of No. 159 Fleet Street Shoemaker and Edward
Hoollam his Bar and Boy taken this 30th day of
November 1786

Who being upon Oath severally say and first the said Matthew
Maggridge for himself saith that about Five Weeks ago he sent
Edward Wollams< no role > now present with a pair of Boots now produced
to Mr Davis in Lawrence Lane< no role > Cheapside and the said Matthew
Moggridge for himself saith that he went with the pair of Boots
and two pair of Shoes to Mr Davis in Lawrence Lane as directed
by his Master that he Knocked at Mr. Davis door when a
Man when he believes to be the Prisoner came to him and desired
him to came with him and taking him round the corner told him
the Gentleman was at his Counting House when a Man stood upon
some steps to whom the Prisoner said "here are your Boots Sir"
when the Man who stood upon the Steps gave the Prisoner a Key
and desired the Prisoner to take them to his Chamber that the
Prisoner went away and this Informant followed him when he
was called back by the Man who stood upon the Steps who gave
this Informant a piece of Paper desiring him to give it to his
Master as it was an order for another pair of Boots but which
Paper contained no Writing at all.
