Who upon their Oaths severally say and first this
Informant Ann Bland< no role >
for herself Saith That She
is an Assistant to her Brother Mr. Richard Bland< no role >
a
Pawn broker
in Drury Lane
That the knows the person of
a Woman now in Custody who says her Name is Elizabeth
Jones who sometimes pledges Goods at her Brothers Shop
That about the hour of 9 o. Clock this Morning She Came
into the Shop and wanted to pledge a pair of Stockings but
She refused to Take them in and the said Elizabeth Jones< no role >
went from the Shop That in about an hour or an hour and
half afterwards She Missed a Cotton Gown which was
hanging up in the Shop and thanker Dister (Mr. Blands Wife)
desired the Servant the said Sarah Jones< no role >
to go to Mr Land
and other Pawnbrokers to see if the Gown was pawned
who in a few Minutes Came back and brought the Gown
and the said Elizabeth Jones< no role >
with her That the said Gown
which was Stolen is now produced and is the property of
the said Richard Bland< no role >
and is of the Value of Sixteen
Shillings
And this Informant Sarah Jones< no role >
for herself
Saith That She is Servant to the said Richard Bland< no role >
and that about ½ past 11. Clock this Morning She received
directions from her Mistress to go to Mr. Lane a pawnbroker
and other pawnbrokers to see if the Gown abovementioned
had been pawned That the went to Mr. Lane's and then was
going to Mr. Dobree's a pawnbroker in Holborn when She
saw the said Elizabeth Jones< no role >
come out of the Shop and the Gown
was upon her Arm That this Informant took the Gown from
her Took her int Custody and gave her in Charge of a Constable
Taken and Sworn the day and year
