Hugh Wright< no role > of Retcliff Highway in the parish of St George in the County
of Middlesex Linnen Draper Maketh Oath and Saith that he this deponent
was Summon'd to attend as a Juror in this Honorable Court in the Month of
October last and this Deponent saith that he keeps a Shop in Ratcliff
Highway aforesaid of that at the time this Deponent should have attended
this Honorable Court on duly as a Juror aforesaid It happen'd that this
deponents Servant who had the Chief care & Management of this Deponents Shop
and Business in the Linnen Drapery Trade went away from the Service of
this Deponent whereby this Deponent was very much Embarass'd in his sd
Trade or Business not being then able to procure a Servant Qualified to Manage
the same in the absence of this Deponent & this Deponent saith if he this
Deponent had attended as a Juror as aforesaid this Deponent would have been
Oblig'd to Shut his said Shop during the time of his absence as this Deponent
could not have the Care & Management thereof to any unesperined person
without the Risk of Sustaining great Injury in his said Business & this
Deponent saith he did not absent himself from his Duty as a Juror as
aforesaid out of Contempt or Disrespect to the Honorable Court to which he
was Summon'd as a Juror but merely from the Distress'd Situation this
Deponent was then in for Want of a Person Qualified to take care of this
Deponents Business as Aforesaid
