The humble Petition and Appeal of the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor
of the Parish of Saint James
within the
Liberty of Westminster
in the County of
Middlesex
.
Sheweth
That by Virtue of an Order under the
Hands and Seals of R Clark Mayor and
Brook Watson< no role >
two
of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace
for the City of London
and Liberties thereof one being of the Quorum bearing Date the
7th. day of September last
Penelope Cowan< no role >
Singlewoman
was
removed and conveyed from and out of the Parish of Saint Mary
Alderman bury
London to the said Parish of Saint James
as
the place of her last legal Settlement whereby your Petitioners
conceive themselves aggrieved
Your Petitioners therefore humbly Appeal
to this Court against the Adjudication
of the said two Justices and their said
Order and pray that the benefit of their
said Appeal may be saved unto them
and that the hearing and determining
thereof may be adjourned until the next
General Session of the Peace to be holden
for the said City
And your Petitioners will ever pray Etc.
