The Information of William Habgood< no role >
Robert Case< no role > and Alexander Coulson< no role >
taken before me this 30th. day of September
1785 .

Who being on Oath say and first the said William Hobgood< no role >
says that on wednesday Evening last at 9 o'Clock, as a Single Horse
Chaise with this Informants Box behind it, containing a Quantity
of Wearing Apparel, and this Informant in another single Horse
Chaise behind it were Driving along Saint Pauls Church Yard , Thomas
Clare
< no role > now present, was driving his Coach behind him. That all of
a sudden said Clare drove his Coach and Horses between said
two Chaises, when some Boys from the foot pavement ran up to
said Box, when the Straw under the Box falling and the Boys
running back, this Informant jumped out of the Chaise and found
his Box gone upon which said Clare (who had another person
with him on the Box) [..] furiously Drove his Coach off
into Cheapside , down Bread Street or Friday Street into Watling
Street , along Saint Pauls Church Yard , down Ludgate hill to
Fleet Ditch , where Informant lost him, being tired with running.
And said Robert Case< no role > says that he is a Coachman . That being
at Hughes's Riding School about ½ past 9 o'Clock that Evening, and
Clare came there with his Coach and told this Informant that
"He had been pursued, and that they had said he had taken a
Box" and added "Damn them I got from them and care
nothing about them". That Thomas Vincent< no role > the Boy now
Present, being also present at this time, said that "He was in Clare's
Coach at this time asleep - and that when the Mob got Round the
