To the Church-Wardens and Overseers of the
Poor of the Parish of Saint Giles without Cripplegate
London , and the
Church-Wardens and Overseers of the
Poor of the Parish of Saint James in Westminster
in the County of Middlesex
and to every of them.

WHEREAS Complaint hath been made unto Us, two
of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the City of
London and Liberties thereof, one being of the Quorum, by
the Church-Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said
Parish of Saint Giles without Cripplegate
London , That William Chivings< no role > and Ann< no role > his Wife
were
lately come to reside in their said Parish, not having obtain'd
any legal Settlement there, and is likely to become charge-
able thereto, unless timely prevented, which Complaint We
the said Justices, upon due Proof made thereof, as well upon
the Oath of the said William as otherwise, do
adjudge to be true; and we do also adjudge the last legal
Settlement of the said William
to be in the said Parish of Saint James in Westminster
and that thitherto he ought by Law to be sent.

These are therefore in his Majesty's Name to will and
require you the Church-Wardens and Overseers of the Poor
of the said Parish of Saint Giles without Cripplegate
London , forthwith to remove and convey the said William
and Ann lies Wife with their two Children namely Susannah< no role > and five
years and upwards and Martha< no role > aged two years and upwards her nurture,
from and out of your said Parish, unto the said Parish of
Saint James in Westminster
And them deliver unto the Church-Wardens and Overseers
of the Poor there, or to some or one of them, together with this
our Order, who is and are hereby required to receive and pro-
vide for them according to Law. Given under our Hands
and Seals, this fifteenth Day of January One Thousand
Seven Hundred and Eighty four
