The Humble Petition and appeal of the Church
Wardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of
Waltham holy Cross in the County of Essex

Sheweth

That by a pass Warrant or Order under
the hands and Seals of Nathaniel Newnham< no role > Esqr.
Mayor of the City of London and Evan Pugh< no role > Esqr.
one of the Alderman of the said City of two of his
Majestys Justices of the Peace for the said City
of London bearing date the 12th. day of December
last past John Melton< no role > was removed from and
out of the Parish of saint Botolph Aldersgate
in the said city of London to the said Parish of
Waltham holy Cross by the name of Waltham
Abbey as the place of his last legal Settlement

That your petitioners thinking them
selves aggrieved by the said pass Warrant
or Order have therefore appealed against
the same and humbly pray your
