. One of the
Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and for the said
County this 26th. day of November 1783
This Informant upon his Oath saith that on
Wednesday Morning the fifth day of Novr. instant at about
the have of Two O Clock this Informant was going to
see the fire in Bartholomew Close
and that in Smithfield
near the top of Chick Lane
he saw one James Bixley< no role >
with a Basket with several parcels in it upon his
Shoulders
(and which this Informant thought was Sugar)
That this Informant followed him down Chick Lane
in
order to see where the said James Bixley< no role >
Carried it to
that the said James Bixley< no role >
stopper at one Mr. Pap's Door
of Chick Lane
and this Informant walked by him and
in a little time after came back again but the said
James Bixley< no role >
was gone. And this Informant further
saith that the Basket now produced is the same
as the said James Bixley< no role >
had
