Middlesex to Wit


The Information of David Prothers< no role > . Moses Murrant< no role > and
John Clark< no role > taken before me this 13th. day of Novemr 1780

Who being upon Oath say, and first the said David Prothers< no role > for
himself says that on the 7th day of November instant he went in Company
with the said Moses Murrant< no role > , John Clark< no role > and other Officers to search a
house near Black Boy Alley in the City of London commonly called
Jack Keteks< no role > CommonThat in entering the Yard of said House he saw
a person now present who calls herself Ann William< no role > Shutting the Door
That he ran up to the Door and found it was locked and on hearing a
Noise in the inside he attempted to break open the Door but finding
he could not easily break open the same he threw up the Saft of the
Widow and get in That on entering the Room he saw the said Ann
William's
< no role > standing by the fire and on Questioning her why she
locked the Door she answered "She did it because she did not know
what they wanted" - That after searching some time and finding at Hole
in the Ground he went down into the same and there found a Press for
cutting out & a large Press with Dies fixed for striking the impression of
Farthings as also a Quantity of Counterfeit Farthings now produced
(Completely finished) which were lying round the said Press and a Candle
lighted at each Press, a Quantity of Copper, Ceril, Dyes and all other
Implements for making coining and counterfeiting the Copper Money
of this Realm called Half pence and FarthingsThe said Moses Murrans< no role >
for himself says that he searched the said House and found under a Board
in the Floor near the Fire Place three Pound sworth of Counterfeit Half pence
That in searching further he pulled up the Bottom step of the
first Flight of Stairs where he found a Hole which led into a Hollow
