The Information of
William Payne< no role > This name instance is in set 2582.
against
Thomas Hilliard< no role >
, who is charged before
me with having wilfully set Fire to his Dwelling
House No. 6 Bird in hand Court in the said City
Who on his Oath saith that he hath
this day taken a particular view of
the Closet up on the landing Place up
one pair of Stairs in the Dwelling House
of the said
Thomas Hilliard< no role >
and of the
Corner Cupboard with in such Closet
that he is clearly of Opinion that the Closet
was fixed up before the House was inhabited
and that it is actually a part of the said
Dwelling House, and would be so deemed
and considered to be by any Workman
that it also appears to him very
clearly that a part of such Closet hath
been on Fire, and that the Corner
Cupboard, which appear to him to have been
an original Fixture not to be taken
down is much burn't and that the
Corner of the Jaumb living of the Closet Window appears also to have
been on Fire.
Taken and sworn at Guildhall
London the 23d Day of March
1779
before me one of the Majesty's
Justices of the Peace
