The Information of Alexander Aubert< no role > and Edward
Austin
< no role > taken before me this 16th. day of July 1777

Who being upon Oath says and first the said Alexander Aubert< no role > for
himself says that he is Deputy Governor of the Corporation of the
London Assurance Company that John Harrison< no role > now present was Accoun
tant to the said Corporation, that on Wednesday last the said John Harrison< no role >
absented himself from his Duty, that a Book now produced was kept in the
Custody of the said John Harrison< no role > for the purpose of keeping a Cash
Account with the Governor and Company of the Bank of England and
for entering therein the sums of Money paid into the Bank of England
on Account of the said Corporation of the London Assurance Company
and the said Edward Austin< no role > for himself says that he is a Book keeper
to the said Corporation of the London Assurance Company that on the
thirtieth day of June last he this Deponent received from the said
John Harrison< no role > two hundred and sixty pounds together with the
said Book now produced in order to pay the said sum into the Bank
of England on Account of the said Corporation of the London
Assurance Company, that he this Informant accordingly paid
the said sum of two hundred and sixty pounds to Mr. Threlked one of
the Clerks in the Bank of England who thereupon entered the same
in the said Book now produced and this Informant afterwards delivered
back the said Book to the said John Harrison< no role > , that on Wednesday last
this Informant having the said Book in his Possession again observed
that the Figure 3 had been prefixed to the Sum of £260 as entered
in the said Book [..] and this Informant does verily believe the said
John Harrison< no role > is the person who so prefixed the said figure 3 to
the said Entry of £260 thereby making the same appear as a
Receipt for £3260 instead of £260, And the said Alexander
