material Evidence in favour of the abovenamed George Rowley and Thomas Rowley
who stand indicted for Burglarious breaking and entring the House of Thomas
Mattison< no role >
in Kings street
Cheapside
and stealing thereout Money and Notes to a large amount
And this Deponent saith that he knows and is acquainted with the said John Dean< no role >
who lives in the Parish of Saint Luke
in the County of Middlesex
and that he this
Deponent called on him the said John Dean on or about the Twentieth Day of this
instant May when he the said John Dean informed this Deponent that he was on
that Day going to set out on a Journey to york which Information this Deponent
beleives to be true and this Deponent saw him set out on his said Journey And
this Deponent further saith that on Wednesday Morning last he this Deponent
by the direction of the abovenamed prisoners went to the House of the said John Dean
in the Parish of Saint Luke aforesaid to enquire whether the said John Dean and
returned where he was Informed that the said John Dean was not returned from the
Country but that they expected him to return in about a fortnight which Information
this Deponent beleives to be true And the abovenamed George Rowley and Thomas
Rowley severally make Oath and say that on last Wednesday they sent the said
Garden to enquire after the said John Dean who returned and
informed these Deponents that he had enquired at the said John Dean's House in
Saint Luke's aforesaid and was there told that the said John Dean was not
returned from the CountryCountrywhere he then was but that they expected him to
return in about a Fortnight And these Deponents severally say that the said
John Dean is a very material Evidence for them on their Tryal for the above
offence without whose Testimony they cannot safely proceed to such Tryal
And
