At the General Quarter Session of the peace of our Lord the King holden
for the City of London at the Guild hall within the said City by
adjournment on Friday the twentieth day of January in the
Fifteenth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the
third King of Great Britain Etc Before John Wilkes< no role > Esquire
Mayor of the City of London Brase Crosby< no role > Esquire Frederick
Bull
< no role > Esquire Aldermen of the said City John Glyms< no role > Serjeant
at Law Recorder of the said City Benjamin Hopkins< no role > Esquire
one other of the Aldermen of the said City and others their
Fellows Justices of our said Lord the King assigned to keep
the peace of our said Lord the King within the said City and
also ta hear and determine divers felonies trespasses and
other misdeeds committed within the said City

Whereas by virtue of a Pass Warrant or Order under the hands
and Seals of two of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the said
City of London (whereof one is of the Quorum) bearing Date the
sixteenth day of July last past Ann Smith< no role > Widow of Richard
Smith
< no role > deceased was removed from the Parish of Saint Swithin at
London Stone in the City London to the Parish of Saint John the
Baptist in the said City as the last legal place of her Settlement
Now upon hearing the Petition and Appeal of the Church Wardens
and Overseers of the poor of the said Parish of Saint John the
Baptist (which stands duly adjourned unto this day) against
the warrant and Judgment of the said two Justices in the presence
and hearing of the Church Wardens and Overseers of the poor of
the said Parish of Saint Swithin at London Stone and having
he are what could be alledged on either side by the said Parties
their Council and Witnesses in and concerning the Premisses
It is thereupon Order that the Warrant and Judgment of the said
two Justices be and the same is hereby conformed and that the
appeal aforesaid be and the same is hereby dismissed And that the
Church Wardens and overseers of the poor of the said Parish of
Saint John the Baptist do maintain and provide for the
said And Smith until they can free themselves from the
charge thereof by due course of Law.
