for the Riding aforesaid
This Informant upon his Oath, Saith that between Frydayon Saturday
Evening and Tuesday Morning last a Bureau in the compling House of this
Informant in West Smithfield
aforesaid was broke open
by some person to this Informant unknown and there
was feloniously Stolen thereout two Bank Notes the
one Number 456 dated the 12th. of December 1772 for Fifty
Pounds payable to Thomas Muller< no role >
or bearer the other
& Number 41 dated the 10th. of February 1774 for Thirty Pounds payable
to Francis Duncan< no role >
or bearer but this Informant Saith
he having lately hired one Richard Burnett< no role >
as his
Servant
who under a pretence of going into the Country
on Particular Business on Monday Evening last
absconded from this Informants Dwelling house
without his Knowledge from which Cause this
Informant violently Suspected the said Richard
Burnett to have committed the said FelonySaith
that he this Informant on enquiry found the said
Richard Burnett< no role >
had taken the Fly for Northa Verton
in the Riding aforesaid on which this Informant
pursued and at Stamford heard the said Burnett had
attempted to get Cash for a Fifty Pounds Bank
Note which this Informant strongly Suspected was
the same Note as so StoleSaith he pursued him
forward to Doncaster where this Informant was
Informed the said Burnett had got Cash for the said
Bank Note of one Mr. Gill in whose hands this
Informant Yesterday saw the said Note which is the
Same Note as was so Stole from this Informant
Saith that last Night he apprehended the said Richard
Burnett at Newby Wisk in the said Riding and that
