The King agt. Wm. Clark< no role > & Susanna< no role > his Wife
and John Hoop< no role > Indicted for an assault
upon Sarah Anne Earle< no role > Spinster .

William Clark< no role > one of the abovenamed Defendants in
this Indictment maketh Oath and Saith That
Anne Dowling< no role > who was lately a Servant in or
near Foster lane London) is a Material witness for
this Depont. & the other Defts in this Cause, and without
whose Testimony they cannot Safely Try the same;

And this Depont. further Saith that the sd. Anne Dowling< no role >
having (since the Commencemt. of this Prosecution) Quitted
her sd Service he this Depont. hath Used his Utmost Endeavrs.
to find her out and to Serve her with a Subpena to Attend
this Honble Court on this day to Give Evidence on Behalf
of this dept. & the sd. other Defendts. on the Tryal of this Indictmt.
and to that End this Depont. on the fifth day of this Instant Septr.
Applyed to her Father at his dwelling in White Chapple
and desired he wou'd help him to the Sight of sd. Ann Dowling< no role >
that he might Subpona her for the Purpose aforesd. But he
Assured this Depont. that he did not know where to find his sd.
Daughter Ann Dowling< no role > at present, that he believed his Son knew
where She was, but that his Son was now above An hundred Miles
out of Town and wou'd not be in London til about a Week or a

and further he Assured [..]
in London , this Dept. shod. be Informed where to find [..]
Dowling, from which assurance which this Depont. believes to
be True he hath no doubt of being Able to Subpena Produce
the sd. Anne Dowling< no role > to this Honble Court at the next Octr Sessions
to Give Evidence for & on Behalf of this Dept. & the sd. other Defts aforesd.
