Moses Jonas< no role > of Houndsditch London Merchant maketh
Oath that one Jacob Moses< no role > and one Moses Alexander having
had some dealing and transactions together and the said Moses
Alexander being about to Sell to the said Jacob Moses< no role > a parcel
of goods, of the Value of Sixty Pounds or thereabouts this
Deponent at the instance and request of the said Jacob Moses< no role >
did agree to Advance and lend him Twenty five Pounds to
go in part payment of the said goods Accordingly on or about
the Twelfth day of December last this Deponent sent his
Servant Benjamin Benjamins< no role > with two Bank notes Value
together Twenty five pounds To the house of the said Alexander
to pay in part of the said goods on Account of the said Jacob
Moses so soon as the Goods were sent out of Alexander
house And this Deponent saith that being informed by the
said Benjamin Benjamins that on his Application to the said
Alexander for the said Goods on Account of the said Jacob
Moses the said Alexander declaring he should not part with the
said goods without money and Alledging that the said
Benjamin Benjamins had none to pay with he immediately
Opened his pockett book and produced said two Bank notes
to Alexander who thereupon took them out of the said
Benjamins hands and declared he should keep them on Account
of monies due to him from Jacob Moses< no role > and should not
deliver any goods, This Deponent did therefore on such
information apply to the sitting Alderman who was pleased
to grant his warant against the said Alexander for feloniously
taking from the said Benjamins the said two Bank Notes this
Deponents property and on or about the fourth day of January
last this Deponent the said Benjamins and also the said
Jacob Moses< no role > were severally bound in a recognizance to prosecute
and give Evidence against the said Alexander at the then
next Sessions And this Deponent saith that being soon
Afterwards well satisfied and convinced that the said
