William Thomas Wood< no role > of Cliffords Inn London Gentleman
maketh Oath that about the thirtieth of December last he went out
of Town into the County and return again on the Eleventh of April
during which time his Chamber in that Inn were Robbed and
divers locks broke open and divers things of Value which this
Deponent had left in his Chambers had been Stollen and carried away
several of which he hath on strict enquiry discovered at se [..]
Pawn brokers, and saith from his enquirys he hath very great
reason to suspect the abovenamed William John Batchellor
to be concerned with one John Sims< no role > and Elizabeth Sims< no role > in the
above Felony and with that both the said John Sims< no role > and
Elizabeth Sims< no role > are run away and absconded and this Deponent
hath not been yet able to apprehend them although Warrant
have been Issued against them and saith that he hath not been
yet able to trace this Felony so far as to bring it house to the
Defendant by sufficient legal Evidence although this Deponent
is himself convinced by many circumstances that he was
concerned with the said John Sims< no role > and Elizabeth Sims< no role > therein
And saith that here [..] ot safely Prosecute the said William
John Batchellor at the Sessions for the same but hopes
and believes he shall be able [..] at the next Session
and also that he verily believes he shall be able to Apprehends
the said John and Elizabeth Sims< no role > before the said next Sessions

in ye old Baily the 15th. day
of May 1766 .
