the Prosecutors in these Causes
severally make Oath and first the said Allanson Cowper< no role >
for himself
saith that the said Benjamin Titley< no role >
did as this Deponent hath been
informed and verily believes in the Month of October last discount with
the said Governor and Company of the Bank of England
as and for a
real and genuine Bill of Exchange a certain Paper Writing purporting
to be a Bill of Exchange and to be dated Sunderland twenty sixth
September One thousand Seven hundred and Fifty eight and to be
drawn by One Jo: Archer< no role >
upon the Defendant Wright for Two hundred
Pounds payable Sixty five Days after Date and to be accepted by the said
Defendant Wright and that the said Paper Writing purporting to be such
Bill of Exchange not being paid upon it's becoming due was protested
by Order of the Governor and Directors of the Bank for Nonpayment
and this Deponent further saith that the Governor and Directors of the
Bank did as this Deponent hath been informed and believes send the
said Bill and Protest to Sunderland
in the Bishoprick of Durham
by
the Post in order to procure Payment thereof from the said Jo: Archer< no role >
the
supposed Drawer thereof and having received an Answer that no
such Person could be found the Governor and Directors of the Bank
