Right Honourable the LORD-MAYOR,
And the rest of
His Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the
City of LONDON ,
The following SCHEME of Rates for Carts, Etc.
Is humbly submitted by a considerable Number of Whole-
sale Traders in the said City.

1st. ANY Quantity of any Sort of Goods and Merchandize,
not exceeding Twelve Hundred Weight, any Way not
exceeding a Quarter of a Mile, and not drawn up any of the
Hills from the River Thames }

2d. Twelve Hundred Weight, or under, drawn up any of the
Hills from the River Thames , not exceeding a Quarter of a
Mile}
0 I 3

Both these Rates to advance Three-pence for every Quarter of a
Mile, to the Extent of the Distance limitted by Law.

Second Estimation for any Weight from Twelve Hundred,
and not exceeding Twenty Hundred Weight.

1st. Any Weight above Twelve Hundred, and not exceeding
Twenty Hundred Weight, a Quarter of a Mile, not drawn up
any of the Hills from the River Thames }

2d. The same Weight drawn up any of the Hills from the
River Thames , not exceeding a Quarter of a Mile}
0 2 0

Both these Rates to advance Three-pence a Quarter of a Mile,
to the Extent of the Distance limitted by Law.

Third Estimation for any Weight from Twenty Hundred,
to Twenty-six Hundred Weight.

1st. For any Weight above Twenty Hundred, and not exceed-
int Twenty six Hundred, not drawn up any of the Hills from
the River Thames , and not exceeding a Quarter of a Mile}

2d. The same Weight drawn up any of the Hills from the
River Thames , and not exceeding a Quarter of a Mile}
0 2 6

Both these Rates to advance Three-pence for every Quarter of a
Mile, to the Extent of the Distance limitted by Law.

A Penalty upon the Carman and Driver refusing to load, or take the
Quantities above mentioned, one Moiety of which to be paid by the Master
Carman, the other Part by the Driver.
