The Information of John [..] Jones< no role > of Ratliff
Highway Painter taken before us twome Oneof His Majestys Justices
of the Peace for the said County

Who being upon Oath says that about Midsummer
last was a Twelve month he bought two Gallons of Oyle at
Mrs Powels in St Martins Lane and carried it into Hatton
Garden and set it down at the Globe Tavern door and went
about one hundred and fifty Yards lower down towards the
Fields, and left the said Oyl without putting it under the Care
of any person and this Informant as he was down [..] his business
at the door of the sd. house hewent to in his returnsaw one Edwd Evans< no role >
take away the said Oyl and tun away as hard as he could
and this Informant pursued him down towards Holborn but
was not able to overtake him, And this Informant says
that he had not seen the Sd Evans for three years before
he saw him take the oyl

Garden and asked this Informant if she had seen any
person take a Bladder of Oyl given and this Informant told
