Mary Griffith< no role > Servant to Mr. Warren of the Temple This Informant
on her Oath Saith that last Sunday Was fortnight about 6 in the Afternoon
She saw povey by the China shop the Corner of Salisbury Court FleetStreet , And that
he was going towards the Swan Ale house , and presently saw a Man Strike povey
with his right hand upon the left side of his face, and saw him falldown
against the Stones, and seemed as if he was dead, Says that povey never offord
to Strike once, Says that she went and took his Watch out of his Pocket for fear
somebody should take it, She knowing the said povey

Thomas Cowley< no role > Servant to Mr. Munday at the White Hart Tavern in
Bishopsgate Street , This Informant on his Oath Saith, that he was in Company
with the said Povey, and met 6 or 7 Young Fellows who were going along Fleetstreet
Says they were Splashing and kicking the dirt against the people as they were
going along it being a very not caming day, And heard them Blaspheme in a
very bad manner and Daming their Esqr. Etc Says upon that [..] he this
Informant desired them to go about their Business it they had either
Masters or Parents, it was better for them to go home, Says upon that one of
them Struck this Informant, and knocked him down, And that when he was
down it was then his friend povey was Used so He further says that there
was no provacation at all given on their Sides, Only desiring them to go
about their Business, Says that the Deced povey was in Liquor, But the
others all seemed to be Very sober

Thomas Hampton< no role > of the Royall Exchange Wine Vaults, This
Informant on his Oath saith that he likewise was incompany with the said
povey and had denied at the 2 Kings & Key in Fleetstreet And going Lang
6 or 7 Men came by, And One Struck povey & Kicked up his heels, Upon
which he full with his head against the stones, says there was no
provocation All given them but they wanted to go along peace ally
Says povey was Somewhat in Liquor But the other party were Sober

John Downes< no role > of New Street Square Says that he was Charged
with at man that had used & beat povey, and had him to the Compter
that this Name was Barnard Smith< no role > as he infromed him
