the request of the Directors of the Bank or some of them this Deponent
desired the said Mr. John Willett< no role > a Quaker who is acquainted with the said
Samuel Sheppard< no role > to write to the said Samuel Sheppard< no role > to enquire after
the said Farmer, Tenpenny, Small and Freeman which this Deponent
verily beleives he did but hath not as yet received my answer as he Informed this Deponent And this Deponent Samuel Dod< no role > further Saith that
the said Farmer, Tenpenny, Small and Freeman being at present
unknown to the Prosecutors in this Cause this Deponent doth verily
beleive it will be Impossible to produce them as Witnesses at the present
Sessions at the Old Baily And this Deponent Gabriel Martin< no role > upon his
Oath Saith that he this Deponent did on Tuesday the Ninth day of this
Instant July Personally Serve the Defendant Robert Scruton< no role > with a
Notice in Writing purporting that the Prosecutors in this Cause Intended
to Move the Court at the Sessions House at the Old Baily as this Day or
so soon after as Council and be heard that the Defendant might be
Detained in Custody till the next Sessions
