Against the form of the Statute in such Case Maddx provided And the Jurors aforesd
upon their sd. oath further Present that the sd: Anthony Hodgson< no role > on the Sd: Twenty Eighteen
day of Decr. in the Year aforesd. & at divers other days & times between the sd: twenty
Eighth day of Decr. in the Year last aforesd. & the day of the taking this Inquisition
at London aforesd: in the parish & Ward aforesd: Unlawfully & deceiptfully had in his
Custody One false Leaden Weight pretended to be a two pound weight which same
Leaden Weight them wanted three quarters of an ounce of its due & just weight
according to the Standard of the Kings Escheqr. One other false leaden weight
pretended to be a pound weight Which sd: leaden weight last menconed then
wanted half an Ounce of its due & just Weight according to the Standard of
the Kings Excheqr. And One other false leaden Weight pretended to be afored
Weight Which sd. Leaden Weight last mentioned then wanted one quarter of an
Ounce of its due & just weight according to the Standard of the Kings Excheqr
And he the sd: Anthony Hodgson then & there Well knowing the sd: respective weights
to be defective of their due & just Weight as is aforesd. with Intent to deceive &
defraud his Majestys Subjects by Selling to them goods & Merchandizer by the
respective false Weights last above mentioned to the Evil Example of all others
in the like Case offending & agt. the peace of our sd: Lord the King his Crown
and dignity And so forth
