The King Against Edmund
Burke

The Defendant Edmund Burke< no role > Maketh Oath that
One Michael Dolphin< no role > A Peruke maker who lately
lived in Duke Street near Lincolns Inn fields in the
County of Middlesex and very lately frequented Severall
housepublick Houses inandBooth Street Spittle field
in the County aforesaid is a Material Witness for this
Deponent for his Defence on this Prosecution without
Whose Testimony this Deponent Cant Safely go to a
Tryal this Sessions And this Deponent Saith that he did
on Monday last direct [..] David Cole< no role > Gentleman
diligently to Enquire for the said Michael Dolphin< no role > in
Duke Street & Booth Street aforesaid being the only
places this Deponent knows of to find him at this since
and such Enquiry was Accordingly made as this
Deponent Verily beleives but he the said Michael
Dolphin is not now to be found nor doth this Deponent
Know Where he now lives So as to have him Served
with a Subpena in Order to have his Testimony at
this present Sessions but hopes to produce him as an
Evidence Against the next Session

Swore At Justice hall in the
Old Bayly on Thursday the
28th: day of June 1733
