The King Against Edmund
Burke

David Cole< no role > of Christ Church Parish in Southwark in the County
of Surrey Gentleman Maketh Oath that he did on Monday the
Twenty fifth day of this Instant June diligently and Carefully
Enquire for Michael Dolphin< no role > of Severall People at Severall houses
in Booth Street Spittle fields in the County of Middlesex And this
Deponent Could not gett Any Information or Intelligence where the
Said Michael Dolphin< no role > might be found So as to be Served with A
Subpena to give his Evidence in this Cause on behalf of the Defendant
but this Deponent Saith that he was there Informed that the said
Michael Dolphin< no role > had been Seen there within five or Six Weeks
last past or thereabouts And this Deponent on Tuesday the Twenty
Sixth Instant Also Enquired at Severall houses in Duke Street
near Lincolns Innefields in which Street this Deponent was Credibly
Informed and Verily beleives the said Michael Dolphin< no role > hood About
Six Months Ago or thereabouts and was A Partner with or a
Journeyman to Another Peruke maker there Whom this Deponent
was Informed quitted his house in that Street about last Quarter
Day but this Deponent [..] was by Severall people then
and there Informed and which this Deponent beleives to be true that
the said Michael Dolphin< no role > Quitted the said partner Ship or Service
and went into the Country About four or five Months Ago And this
Deponent was Also Informed that the said Michael Dolphin< no role > Came
to London Again And that he has been in London within Six Weeks
last past And this Deponent Could gett no Other Informacon Where
the said Michael Dolphin< no role > now is than that he was in the Country
And this Deponent further Saith that he is Credibly Informed and
Verily beleives that the said Edmund Burke< no role > Cannot Safely go to a
Tryal in this Cause [..] without the Evidence of the said Michael Dolphin< no role >
And that he is A Material Witness for the said Burke and Absolutely
necessary to be produced at the said Tryal for the said Burkes
Defence and Justification And this Deponent doubts not but the
Defendant will be able to produce the said Witness at the next
Sessions An Advertisemt. being published in the daily Advertiser
for finding him out

the 28th: day of June 1733 :
