We the Grand Jury of the City of London Sworn to Enquire for their Sorvereign Lord the
King and the Body of the said City at the Guildhall London On Wednesday the 12th: of
this Instant January Anno Domini 1735 and in the 12th: Year of the Reign of our
Sovereign Lord George King the Great Brittain Etc

We present as a [..] grievons Nusance [..] Number of Beggars shoe cleaness and other Idle and Wandering
Persons that Daily Frequent and [..] publick Streets of this City To the great Disturbance
of the Citizens and all other persons, [..] to and fro through the said streets upon their
lawfull Occasions, The said Beggars and other idle Wanderers interrupting & stopping
such persons for to give them Almes [..] pretending to sell some Trifleing Things for to Colour
their asking an Almes. and who [..] Molest the Shopkeepers and Inhabitants of this
City by standing or lying Continued [..] their Doors an disturbing them & their Customers
in their Traffick & Business. [..] number of Beggars Shoe cleaners Etc both Men & Women with their
young Childeren if not timely presents [..] become a heavy Charge to the Inhabitants of this
City the said number having of [..] Increased in this City as We apprehend pay the
Care & Diligence of his Majesties Justices of the Countys lying round about the Town by [..]
