The Information of Thomas Woolbridge< no role > living in
Red Lyon Ally Cow Cross in the Parish of St Sepulchre
in the County of Middlx tripeman taken this 3d. day of
Aprill 1725 .

Who upon Oath Deposeth and saith that on Thursday night
last between the hours of Ten and Eleven a Clock of the same
night he this Depont. near to ye Corner of long lane in
Smithfeild London was met by a Woman who calls her [..] self
by the name of Jane Thornton< no role > who asked this Dept. to Give her
a Pint of Beer whereupon he this Dept. together with the said
Jane Thornton went into the Lock and Key Alehouse in
Smithfeild aforesaid and called for three Pints of Beer in
a Box by themselves during the Drinking of which she ye
said Thornton Prtended he this Depont. had got something
in his Coat Pockett which this Depont. answered was shot
and thereupon to lett the said Thornton know what he
had pulled out his handkercher in which was lyed up
two Crown Peices four half Crown Peices and Thirteen
Single Shillings which the Dept. shewed to ye said Thornton
and afterwards put it up loose into his Breeches Pocket
and that about Six Minutes after Shethis Deponentthe
said Thornton pretended to go backwards in the said house
and accordingly did so, and that soon after this Deponent
(no body being then in his Company) Examined his Pocketts
and then [..] found that he had Lost or had been feloniously
Stolen from him the two Crown Peices abovementioned and
verily beleivesthatthat the said Jane Thornton did steal
the same she never returning back into his Company that
night or since
