And first this Depont. Robert Garrard for himselfe saith
that he this Deponent did on the Tenth day of October
personally with notice in writing that the Defendt. Cowper
would appear at Justices Hall in the Old Bayley on Thursday
then next at Eight of the Clock in the Morning being the
Second day of the then next Sessions of Goal Delivery of
Newgate to be held for the City of London in order to take his
tryall upon an Indictment preferred against him by the said
Prosecutor And this Deponent Thomas Cowper for himselfe
Severally Saith that he has attended at the Sessiosn house
with his Witnesses in order to take his tryall this present
Sessions according to the said notice And the said prosecutor
did likewise attend in order for tryall of this Cause on
Thursday and Fryday last and One Mr. Wreathock
Sollicitor for the prosecutor in this Cause told this Depont.
that the said prosecutor was ready and would try the Cause
this Sessions or to that or the like Effect And this Deponent
Coroper farther Saith that he also acquainted the Prosecutor
himselfe that he this Deponent Cowper would appear and
take his tryall this present Wednesday the Twenty first
of October instant To which the prosecutor answered
that he would not trouble himselfe about it and this
Deponent might doe as he pleased and take what advantage
he this Deponent could or used words to that or the like effect
And these Deponent George Rossington John Portman
and Patrick Fynn for themselves severally Say that
they these Deponents also heard the said Bishop in a
publick room in the old Bayley this Day say the
said words that he would not trouble himselfe about
