William Henry Grimshead< no role > of Islington in the County of
Middx Victualler maketh oath That Mr. Thomas Lane< no role > of
Islington aforesaid Cowkeeper being bound over before Sr John
Fryer
< no role > Bart . to prsecute James Hussay< no role > William Feild< no role > & Martha
Downs
< no role > at this present Sessions of Goal Delivery held for
this City(as this Depont apprehends) for a felony up on them
charged to have been comitted in [..] Middlesex the Goods
stoln being found upon them some or one of them in London
in his way hither this day in order to such P secucon P on no
other accot. whatsoever (as this Depont Knows of) was arrested
by one Edward King< no role > an Officer to the Sherriff of Middx & is
now deteined in his custody by wch meane the said P secucon
is hundred & prevented the he told the said King what his
Business was at this said Sessions but that would by no
means avail And this Depont further saith That at the
request of the said Mr. Lane upon his apprehension of
some arrest to be made upon him He this Depont. did on
Monday last apply himself to Mr Charles Bainbridge< no role >
Clerk to Sr. George Merttins< no role > Knt . to obtain a Subpena for
him the said Mr. Lane that under the P teccon thereof he
night come & go free in order the better & more effectually
to carry on the said intended P secucen & the said Mr.
Bainbridge then told him this Depont. that he had no occon
to be at such charge for that in such cases the Cause itself
would be a sufficient Pteccon to Keep him free in his direct
coming going & attendance thereupon unto that effect wch
was the only reason why this Depont. had not previously
obtained such Subpena.
