London , and the Churchwardens and
Overseers, of the Poor of the Parish of St. Mary at
Rotherhith in the County of Surry respectively.

WHEREAS Complaint hath this Day been made
unto us two of His Majesty's Justices of the
Peace for this City, and the Liberties thereof (Quorum
unus) by You the Churchwardens and Overseers of
the Poor of the Parish of St. Botolph without Bishopsgate
London, That Thomas Ward< no role > with Three Children (vizt)
Thomas Ward< no role > about Seven Years old & Sarah < no role > & Phillip
Ward
< no role > being Twins about five years old each are
lately come into
your said Parish not having obtained any
legal Settlement there, and are likely to become charge-
able thereto by reason of the Poverty of the said Thomas
Ward
< no role > the Father unless timely prevented,
which Complaint we adjudge to be true. And forasmuch
as it appears unto us by the Oath of the said Thomas Ward< no role >
the Father that he was an Inhabitant & an housekeeper
at Seven pounds & Ten Shillings P Ann rent in the Parish of St. Mary
at Rotherhith in the County of Surry for about Seven years where
he [..] was rated & paid to the Poor & other Parochiall
Duties about five years age and by any means whatsoever hath
not obtain any subsequent Settlement. We the said Ju-
stices are therefore of Opinion, and do adjudge the last
legal Settlement of the said Thomas Ward< no role > & Thomas Sarah
& Phillip his Said three Children to be in the said Parish
of St. Mary at Rotherhith in the County of Surry and
that thitherto they ought by Law to be sent.

THESE are therefore in His Majesty's Name to re-
quire You to remove and convey the said Thomas Ward< no role >
together with Thomas Sarah & Phillip his said three Children
from and out of your said Parish of St Botolph in the [..]
Bishopsgate London , to the said Parish of St. Mary at Rotherhith
in Surry aforesaid and them leave with the Churchwardens &
Overseers of the Poor there, or one of them, who is and
are hereby required to receive and provide for them
according to Law. Hereof sail not, and this shall be your
Warrant. Given under our Hands and Seals the Sixteenth
Day of February Anno Domini 1720 .
