The Deft Andrew Carruthers< no role > maketh Oath That John Carruthers< no role > this depts. Brother is a
Surgeon in the Service of the East India Company and did about Christmas last sail in that
Quality from the Port of London in Order to make a Voyage to Maderass and Bengall in the
East Indies on Board one of the said Companys Ships called the Darby Comanded by Captain
William Fitzhew< no role > as this dept. is credibly informed and verily believes And this Dept. further
Saith that he believes the said John Carruthers< no role > will not return to London till about twelve
Months hence And this Dept. saith that the said John Carruthers< no role > is a very materiall Witness
for this Dept. in this Cause and that this Dept. cannot safely proceed to the Tryall of his
Traverse in this Cause without the Testimony of the said John Carruthers< no role >
