The humble Petition and Appeale of the Churchwardens & Overseers of
the Poor of the Parish of St. Martin Vintry
London
Sheweth
That by Virtue of a Warrant under the hands and Seals of two of her Maties
Justices of the Peace
within this City (one being of the Quorm) bearing date the
Seventeenth Day of December last past one
Elizabeth Smith< no role >
was removed from the Parish of St. Peter
the Poor
in Bread street
. London unto the said Parish of St. Martin Vintry
alleadging the said Parish to be the last legal Settlement of
John Smith< no role >
husband
of the said Elizabeth who is now in the Maties Service
That your Petitoners doubt not but to prove that the said Elizabeth
Smith< no role >
nor her husband John Smith< no role >
never had any legal Settlement in
the said Parish of St. Martin Vintry
whereby they conceive themselves
aggreived by the said Warrant and Judgment of the said two Justices and
do humbly appeal to your Gouland Worpps there from
Your Petitioners therefore most humbly pray your
Honr and Worpp [..] will be pleased to hear them in the
prmisses and not the prmisses and that the Churchwardens
and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of St. Peter the
Poor London may appear before you and hear and abide
the determination of your honr and Worpps touching this
appeale
