Botolph Bishop Gate in the City of London
Widow Saith on Oath that on Saturday
the 30th. Day of August last past one
pair of Flaxen Streets was Stolen
from her and that the dothveryverily
believe that John Ray< no role > the prisoner here
present did steal the same for that
he on ye 30th. of August aforesaid came
to this Deponts. house and agreed wth.
this Depont. for a Lodging [..] and
this Depont. further Saith that
when she shewed him ye Room where
he was to Lodge the Flaxen Streets
aforesd. weretheseupon ye Bed in ye sd.
Room and that after ye said John [..]
Ray< no role > had writt a Letter in the said Room
he went from this Deponts. House to
carry it to ye Posthouse but never
returned to his Lodgingsand [..]
And this Depont. further Saith that
she (not receiving him to return) went
into his Lodging Room) & then she missed
the said Streets, And this Depont. Saith
further that she is very sure that
John Ray< no role > the prisoner is the very Pson
that came to her House to take & Lodging
as aforesaid.
