Indictmt for The Murder of Wm Cope< no role >

Wee find that the deceased was a Leiuetent. of the Queens Guards that the [..]
in the indictmt upon the guard in the years room att the Tower is commanding officer there that the day came there [..] That the deft [..] gave a Front in
a Woman of the decased is acquaintance [..] who was there att that time in the Company
that the deceased required desired the deft to forbear that the deft gave the deceased [..] that was very [..] word
languagepastbetween [..] [..] & goods pass'd between themupon wch the deceased requested him to leave the roomthat thereupon the
ye angry words pass'd between ye prisoner & ye [..] woman & ye prisoner threatned her; yt this
deceas'd took part wth ye woman, & desired ye prisoner to forbear ye usage [..] for this
must protect her there, yt ye Prisoner thereupon gave ye deceas'd ill language &
damaged satisfaction of him & ye deceas'd sd that was not a place to give
satisfaction in but at another him & place he would give him satisfaction & [..]
ye mean time desir'd him to be more civill or leave ye Company
deft was going & took suddenly took up a Full bottle of wine & threw it att the deceased & hitt him
on the head & imediately drew his swordthat taken upon the deceased threw a bttle [..] any pause over ye Shoulder of one that
att the Prisoners wch hitt him upon wch the deftendeavour'd to event him gave the deceased the void the mortall
wound of wch he dy'd yt [..] in intermediate time between ye Prisoners drawing his wound & giving ye stolen dead threw a bauttle at ye [..] as him [..] broke his hand
and if the Court should be of Oppinionthatupon this whole matter that there [..]
deceased gave towas a sufficient provocation given by the deceased to the deft [..]
then wee find the deft not guilty of murder but finds him guilty of manslaughters but it upon this whole matter the Court
should be of Oppinion that there was not sufficient provocation given by the
deceased to the [..] deft then wee find the deft Guilty of Murder
