Whereas the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poore of the Parish of St. Pancras [..]
Pancras Lane in London made complaint before sr Salathiell Lovell< no role > Knight and
Recorder of the Citty of London and Sir Thomas Stampe< no role > Knight & Alderman of the Same
Citty two of her Majesties & Justices of the Peace for the Said Citty and Liberties
thereof (Qnornm unus) and both dwelling nere the Symith where the Parish of St. Pancras
lane abebem entered is That one Phebie Omer< no role > Singlewoman hath beene lately
delivered of a Male Bastard Child in the said Parish whereof She Charged one John
Francis
< no role > dwelling at the howse knowne by the signe of the Mans Gunn in Limehowse to
be the Father and that the said Bastard Child hath beene chargeable to the said Parish
and desireing releife therein (wee the said Justices according to the forme of the
Statute in that case made and provided upon heareing of this Matter and the
Circumstances thereof and the examination of the said Phebie Omer on Oath taken
before [..] concerneing the Premises, upon mature consideration by asthere upon had
Do declare Doome and Adjudge that the said John Francis< no role > is there ented Father
of the said Bastard Child And for the better releife of the said Parish of St.
Pancras in Pancras Lane London Do Order that the said John Francis< no role > Upon
Notice of this our Order Pary or cause to be paid unto the present Churchwardens
and Overseers of the Poors of the said Parish or Some or So [..] of Them for and
towards the charges and expences of the tyeing in of the said Phebie Omer, and also
for the Nurseing & keeping the said Bastard Child for the time part the Some of
Six pownds eleaven Shillings and Six pence which said Sume hath beene allready
expended and said out by the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poore of the
said Parish on the Occasions aforesaid given Under our hands and Senles
this eighth day of January seaventeene hundred and six.
