Extraordinary belonging to her Maties Customes Joynt by & Severally
make oath That they these Depts: on ye: Thirteenth day of February instant
betweene ye Houres of Nine & Tenn of ye clock att Night being
in One of her Maties Custome house Boats on the River of Thames
together wr one Mr Christopher Gibbons< no role > an Officer of ye Customes
the Said Mr Gibbons and these Depth: (being on hevi Duty & to prvent
her Matie being defranded in her Customes) did Pceive a Shipps
Boat comeing upp ye River neare Kings Staires Readriff wherein
were abt: 4: or five persons, he ye said Gibbons called out to
Know what they had in their Boat, demanded to seary or
Rumage ye same, Saying he was an officer & belonged to her
Maties Customes, & he as his Duty Soe to doe, or to yt: Effect
One of ye Psons in ye said Boat (who these Depts: in Some Small
tyme Knew to be One Ralph Selby Comandr: of ye Selby Friggett)
Anperd ye said Gibbons Yot he Should not See nor come on Board
him, butt bidd these Depts: & ye said Gibbons keep off att ye ir perrills
threatning if they did offer it he would knock yese Depts: & ye
said Gibbons on ye Head, & ordrd his Men to Keep these Depts:
off who accordingly did and Priyed these Depts: Severall tymes
wh yeir Oares in yese Dept: Sides and Breasts And yese Depts:
furyer say yat ye said Capt: Selby tooke an Oar in his hand
and punist this Dept: Robt: Andrews in ye Belly, and afterwards
[..] his sword in his Scabbard ye said Capt: Selby Struck ye said
Gibbons over bichead Sweareing Severall Oath yat he wd
Knock out yese Depts: Braines drawing his Sword, and ye Queens Beat
being come a Long side of Selbys Boat ye said Selby tooke
Hold of this Dept: Robt: Andrews< no role > his Hatt & pulled off ye same
together with his perriceigg into his ye Said Capt: Selbys Beat
