The Case of St. Austines Parish appellants agt. St. Giles Cripplegate
on passing of Martha Quickleborough< no role > & her 2 Children from thenceto Sr
Austines

Joseph Quickleborough< no role > the pretended Husband of Said Martha is a Diamond Cutters
in ye yeare 1696 Contracted Matrimony att antwerpch Flanders wth One Susanna belince< no role > wth
whom hee lived 3 or 4 yeares

About Six yeares Since hee leaves his Said wife & cames over to England & Workes journey
Work & was entertained att Mr. Jennalls in ye pass Warrt menconed

Afterwards Marries Martha in ye pass Warrt Named who was fellow Servt wth him sometime
att Mr Jennalls & by her has two Children

She Leading the man Alweary and measy life Scolding Sometimes the eatning to Murder him
in his bed Etc The poor fellow leaves her & goes to Sea the had she demand herselfe well hee
was able to have maintained verry handsomly

The Contracted wth Mr Jennalls to serve him a yeare but did not actually Serve out ye time for
growing disorderly hee left his Service abt a week or to deined before his yeare expir'd Brides
the Act of 3d or 4 tom and Mr Sayes that if any unmarried Pson Not having Child or Children bee
hired for a yeares Etc itt shall bee deemed a Settlemt. and this Quickle borough haveing both wife
and Children in antwerpd. Wheither being them hired, tho' hee thus contracted & had actually
Served an hole whiether hee could gaine any Settlemt. without Notice to ye Churchwardens as
the Act direto

Tho the appellants have noe possitive proof of an Actuall Marriage att Antworp yett they hope
the Cirann Stainall Evidence hereunder menconed will bee Suffet in this Case (Vizt)
