This Informt. upon his Oath deposeth That
Some time Since one Mr. Godfrey Shewed this Informt.
a Note purporting a Note undr. this Informts. hand for the
paymt. of five pound to one William Lovett< no role >
and
alsoe a letter purporting a letter from this Informts. to
the Said Lovett with the Said bill Inclosed, And this
Informts. further deposeth That the said Note and
letter are both Counterfeith and forged and that the name Thomas
Chaplin< no role >
Sett to the said letter and Note are not of
this Informts. owne hand writeing neither doth he
know anything of the writeing of the Said Note
and letter other then what the Said Lovett told this
Informt. And further this Informts. deposeth That
after he had seene the Said Note and letter he turned
charged the said Lovett with forgeing the said Note
and letter and that the Said William Lovett< no role >
then
Confessed to this Informts. that he did forgot he said
Note and letter but Said he did it in extream necessity
and that he had reced the money upon the Creditt of the said
Note & letter of Mr. Godfrey his Said Master.
