The humble petition and Appeale of the Churchwardens and
Overseers the Poore of the Parish of St. Brides London
Sheweth
That by virtue of A Warrant

Justices of the Peace (one being of

a poore vagrant loose person have
[..] inhabitation or lodgeing nor place of
abode or settlement but as a vagrant
[..] menconed in the warrant) was
sent to yor. Petr. by the Oath of one
[..] Vandertall her Sister That her last
settlement was in the Parish of St.
[..] where she lodged att the house of
one Pilkington in one of the Alledeading to Shoelane in the Pish of St.
Brides
att the time of the Death of King Charles the second in the yeare
1684/5 And that the said Jane hath not had any settlement since as she
beleives whereas in truth she being Vagrant should have been sent to the
place of her birth which was in the Pish of St. Andrew Holbourne London
where her Father dwelt and where she was alsoe a servant wth. one Edwd. meered.
since that time for seaven yeares together till about two yeares past where she
was legally settled as a hired servant
.
Yor. Petr. therefore Prays yor. Honors. and Worpps. to hear their
Appeale in the Prmisses And to Quash the said Warrant And
send her to the Parish of St. Andrew
Holborne to be Pvided for
being the place of her birth and her last legall settlement
as a hired servant
And They shall pray etc.
