There came a man one whittley or whitfield to Mr Backhouses
Coffee house about two dayes agoe
and asked me whether I was an
Evidence against Geo Gadsby< no role >
about mudhring his wife I tould him [..] I was then he asked
me what I had to say and tould
me yt I was not oblidged to owne
What I said before Sr Robert Jeffrey< no role >
when i came to the old bayley

Robt Randle< no role > Declares upon his Corporall oath that on the 19th
Day of came to him & May Instant one
whitfield came to this Deponent & persuaded
him not to prossecute George Gadsby< no role > for
killing his Wife & told him that he would
save him harmless for two peace &for
furthersaidtold this Deponent that leaded
nor fling away six & eight pence & that
he might as well keep it this pocket &
that he might do it as well a Twele month
here & further told this Depont that he
valued as Evidence but the boy & told
this Depont: that he would he bound in a
boad of a hundred pounds that he
should Come to no harme if he Did not
appeare agt the said Gadsby & further says yt
the sd Gadsby's own mother goes up & down
with the said Whitfeild to Endeavoure to Still
& take as the Evidence agt Person
