Whereas complaint hath beene made unto us whose handes and
Seales are hereunto Set two of his Majesties Justices of the
Peace for the Citty of London (Quorum Unus) by the Churchward:
and overseers of the Poore of the Parish of St. Giles
without Criplegate London that Thomas Herbert< no role > & Ann< no role > his Wife
are lately come into the Said Parish without giveing any Notice in
writeing of the place of his Abode or number of his Family
to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poore of the
said Parish as by Law is required and are likely to
become chargeable to the same Parish unles timely
prevented And for asinnchas Oath is made before us by
the Said Ann Herbert< no role > that her said Husband is now in his Maties
Service in Flands & that his last legall Setlement was in the Parish of
St Andrewe Hollboarne in the County of Midlesex by Whome She
hath had one Child now liveing of the Age of Nine months or therabts

Their are therefore in his Majesties Name to require and
comand you the officers of the said Parish of St. Giles
without Criplegatesome or One of you to take
passe and carie away the said Ann Herbert< no role > & her Child
out of the Said Parish of St. Giles without Criplegate London
unto the Parish of St. Andrews Hollbourne in the County of Midlx
and there deliver them to the Churchwardens & Overseers of
the Poore of the Same Parish or to Some or One of them who
are hereby likewise in his Majesties name required to
receive & provide for [..] Them according to Law and hereof
you nor amy of you are to faile given (under our hands
& Seale this sixteenth day of May sixteene hundred Ninety six
