The Examinacon of Elizabeth Hobell Eviddence
lodgeings at Mrs Mounts by London Wall were
Bishopsgate in the Parish of Alehallowes in the
Wall taken on oath before mee Mr Tho: Stampe< no role > knight
one of theire Majesties Justices of the Peace for
this Citty the 17th day of January 1692

This Examinant Saith tent one Joseph Johnson< no role > , lodging
at the White Beake an Alehowse in Broadstreete now wth
Newgate did take from and out of the lodgeing of this
examinant at the howse of one Jeremiah Hardinge< no role > in
Shoreditch nore the Church of Shoreditch [..] in the
County of Midlesex a Trymke with Clothes without
this Examinants Knowlledge or Order and sold the same, And
this Examinant Saith that on Saturday the 31th December
last this Examinant went to the lodgeing of the aforesaid
Johnson, at the Whitebeare aforesaid to demand of him
Satisfaccon for the said Trymke and Goods where this
Examinant at the time and place aforesaid form the
said Johnson, cliping of the Court many of this King drise [..] and Afterwards
discovered the same to Sir. Robert Goodries Webb comitted
the said Johnson to Newgate. And this Examinant
also further saith That one Wm. Salter< no role > a Shoemaker lodgeing at one
Mr Powells in the White horse yard in Broadstreete
brought her acquainted with one Wm. Townesend dwelling
in Pettiecoate Lane in Whitechapell Parish Tallowe-
Chandler Which said Salter and [..] Townsend did both of
them, perswade this Examinant to preferr an Indictemt:
for cliping of the said, mony against one Joseph Jones< no role > instead
of Joseph Johnson< no role > and Hisly to insist on it that it was
Jones and not Johnson or Else not for appeare at all,
against Johnson and them be the saith Townsend would
