The Examinancon of Richard Dyer< no role > of the
Pish of portsopen London Gunmaker take the
2d day of January Anno Dom 1692

This Examinant Sayde, That hee have beene acquaind
with James Whitney< no role > for three, or Foure yeares last
past, And that on Xmas, Eve last the said Whitney [..]
sent for this Examt. to the Kings head in Funchurch
streete London, by a porter, and desired this Examt. to
bring his sword blade, which hee hadle left at this
Examts. house some tyme before, to have an need
Srocbord made to it, and that left brought the said sword blade &
scaber'd to the said Whitney at the [..] ye Kings head
aforesaid, And this Examinant sayde thatheeshe said
Whitney did owe him three pounds being money
that he had lent to Whitney & wife, by the ordr of
Mr Whitney some tyme the last sumer, and one
pound five shilllings, more, which was for a Cafe
of pocket pistoler being mall Foure pounds five
shillings, And that ye said Mr Whitney did the
pay him the Debt aforsaid, and left and this Examts.
hand five pounds Fifteeme shillings. to bee
Changed into Gunders for Mr Whitney, and that
the money is now is the hands of this Examt. and alsoe
the sword Blade, And this Examt. seayds that he has heard
that Mr Whitney was a Highwayman, but the
reason why hee did not apprehend him, was because hee
Kudso him when hee lived at Cheston , He sayed hee tell
often perswaded him to leave up being a Highway man
And that hee has severall tymes beene in his Company
since his heard that he was a Highway make, And that
Whitney left ye Sword blade with him about five weeks since
