The humbly Peticon of ye Churchwardens & Overseers of the
Poore of the Pish of St. Mary Woolnoth London
Sheweth
That one Sarah a female child aged about twoe yeares The Father &
Mother being unknowne were by the Churchwardens of St. Michaell
Cornhill by virtue of a warrant under the hands & seales of twoe of their
Maties. Justices of the peace brought to & left wth. yor. Petr. upon a
Suggestion That the said Sarahs last legall settlement was in yor
Petr. Pish whereas in truth the said Sarah passing through Cardinals
capp Ally in yor. Petr. Pish in the late greate Frost one Mrs. Drayner
seeing the child And Itt craveing for Drinke shee releived itt whereupon
the said Sarah went away of itts owne accord into the Pish of St. Michaell
Cornhill and sett downe att Mr. Watford doore there And after twoe
houres was taken upp by their officers and kept by them about three
weekes & since sent to yor. Petr go aforesaid
Yor. Petrs. humble suite to yor. Honor. & worpps. is That
you wilbe pleased to order the Churchwardens of St
Michaell Cornhill
to appeare before vor. And to heare
their appeale in the prmisses And to order the said Sarah
to be sent to the said Pish of St. Michaells To be pvided
for by them according to Lawe.
